Week 42: 13 October 2023 to 20 October 2023

Mugging, Clare Street, Gardens @ 04:18 on the 14th October 2023. Our monitoring centre received a call requesting assistance as there had been an attack on someone in the street. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported two females were mugged while walking home from a nightclub. Three male suspects grabbed a handbag containing a wallet, cell phone and house keys. SAPS were in attendance.

Housebreak In & Theft, Hof Street, Gardens @ 08:19 on the 18th October 2023. Our monitoring centre received a burglar alarm from a premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the front gate was open. Upon investigation a suspect was apprehended near the pool area. The suspect had gained access by cutting the electric fence. As AR proceeded to cuff the suspect, a scuffle ensured whereby the suspect grabbed the AR’s firearm and fired a shot. The officer was injured and taken to hospital. SAPS were in attendance and the suspect was taken into custody.
