Newsletter/Blog 2014-09-30 News Flash- Important Notification 29th September 2014 Dear Valued Clients, As you are well aware, your alarm system is linked to our 24 hour monitoring centre via an alarm link with SIM card. Throughout the industry communication of alarm events between an alarm and a control room is conducted via a telephone, radio or GPRS protocol. There appears to be a misconception in the market that the use of a singular communication method provides a 100% guarantee that all events will arrive at our monitoring centre. None of the communication protocols can provide a guaranteed 100% up time. Phone lines can be cut, Telkom may have problems, high sites for radio transmitters may be down for various reasons and links via SIM cards may be down due to the network or other related issues. CBAR is obligated to inform you of the above and advise that clients on the alarm link system should consider the installation of a radio transmitter. These will be installed as a fail-safe on the alarm, as a backup to the SIM communication, thus giving the alarm a second communication protocol. These will be installed at our cost price of R684.00 (Incl. VAT). There is an annual radio communication fee which is payable to ICASA of R250.00 (Incl. VAT). Should you have any queries regarding the above information kindly contact Mr. Colin Smith, our technical manager, on 0860 151515 or by email at colin@citybowlsecurity.co.za. CBAR, 24 hours a day, only minutes away! Kind regards and best wishes Alan Kusevitsky and the CBAR Team
