Common Theft, Gilmour Hill Road, Tamboerskloof @ 22:31 on the 24th February 2025. Our monitoring centre received an alarm activation from a premises. When called, the client requested AR as someone had jumped over the fence that morning and stolen the garage remote. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported, while speaking to the client via the intercom, the garage door opened and a suspect came running out. AR gave chase but lost the suspect. The client stated a wallet had been stolen from the vehicle parked inside the garage. Sometime later, while enroute to a call, AR reported he had been stopped and informed by SAPS they had apprehended a suspect with a remote and wallet in his possession. SAPS and AR proceeded to the client’s premises who confirmed the items belonged to him. The items were returned to the client and the suspect was taken into custody.

Armed Robbery, Upper Buitenkant Street, Vredehoek @ 06:59 on the 25th February 2025. Our monitoring centre received a panic alarm from a premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the client had been robbed and tied up inside the premises. The client stated at approximately 05:45 he was woken up by the dogs barking inside the house. When he went to investigate, he was confronted by two teenaged males. The two suspects with knives in hand that they had taken from the kitchen threatened the client while demanding gold and valuables. The suspects then took the client to the bedroom and tied him up and placed a towel over his head. The client says the suspects were very aggressive and kept demanding goods. They also ate some food and took things to drink. The suspects loaded all valuables into bags. An electric bicycle was also taken from the premises. As the suspects fled, they took the client’s vehicle keys, the spare keys, the house keys and all remotes for the gates and alarm system. The client managed to free himself after he made sure they were gone, then pressed the panic alarm to alert security as the alarm was not armed at the time of the invasion. The items taken were an iPad, iPhone, wallet, MacBook, camera and lenses, E-Bicycle, passports, headphones, spotting scope, power bank and keyboard all to the value of R300 000-00. SAPS were in attendance including the forensic department for fingerprints and DNA samples as the suspects moved a lot of goods and then left it behind.
