Attempted Theft Out of Motor Vehicle, Virginia Avenue, Vredehoek @ 01:00 on the 28th December 2024. Our monitoring centre received an alert regarding three males that were tampering with vehicles in the street. AR was dispatched and the three males were located and searched but nothing was found on their person. SAPS were informed as the CCTV footage showed them trying to open a vehicle. No case was opened but SAPS took the three males to the police station for profiling.

Housebreak In & Theft, Upper Orange Street, Oranjezicht @ 06:10 on the 31st December 2024. Our monitoring centre received a call reporting a break in had occurred at the premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the premises was under construction. The power of the premises had been switched off and the client was unsure if it was switched off by contractor or the suspect/s. Entry was gained via a side window which was broken and had no burglar bars. The inside doors were opened with keys to the property. The client was unable to verify everything that was stolen as most goods were packed in one room. A lot of clothing, designer hand bags and jewelry were stolen. The neighbour noticed a person with dark clothing climb out the same broken window at 05:30 and then contacted the client who came to the premises first. A security guard was placed on site. SAPS were in attendance.

Housebreak In & Theft, Serpentine Road, Oranjezicht @ 22:36 on the 31st December 2024. Our monitoring centre received a panic alarm activation from a premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the fence was damaged and it seemed like entry had been gained. Upon investigation two suspects were found on the property. The two suspects had entered via the front door which had been broken and were found in possession of food items that had been stolen from this premises. The client was informed and stated he would arrive later as they were away. Upon the client’s arrival it was found that his office was ransacked as well. It was uncertain of what else could have been stolen. SAPS were in attendance and the suspects were taken into custody.

Housebreak In & Theft, Deerpark Drive, Highlands Estate @ 03H11 on the 1st January 2025. Our monitoring centre received a call reporting the premises had been burgled. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the neighbourhood watch were also on scene. The client stated that they woke up with someone trying to enter the bedroom. The client pushed and held the door closed while his wife alerted SAPS. The suspects shouted at him to open the door and started breaking the door from their side. The suspects also sprayed pepper spray but it did not reach the client. The suspects then fled the scene. Only a small television and a sander machine were taken. The property is currently under construction. S.A.P.S were in attendance.

Housebreak In & Theft, Quarry Hill Road, Tamboerskloof @ 11:27 on the 1st January 2025. Our monitoring centre received a call reporting the security gate had been derailed and some garages were broken into. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported that it was uncertain what had been stolen as many of the owners/tenants were away and it was not known what was in their garages. The gate was placed back on the rails and SAPS were not needed. Regular patrols were scheduled.

Common Theft, Quarry Hill Road, Tamboerskloof @ 18:40 on the 1st January 2025. Our monitoring centre received a call from a client reporting something was blocking his camera. Shortly thereafter a panic alarm was received. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported a plastic packet was placed over the camera and the water pipes had been stolen. The AR assisted the client to close off the water until repairs could be done. The client declined SAPS.

Attempted Theft Out of Motor Vehicle, Van Ryneveld Avenue, Devils Peak @ 05:50 on the 2nd January 2025. An alert was received of an individual trying to break a window of a vehicle. AR was dispatched and on arrival apprehended the suspect. When he was searched nothing was found on his person. The owner inspected his vehicle and stated as there was no damage to the vehicle, he would not open a case with SAPS.
