Week 16: 12 April 2024 to 19 April 2024

Trespassing and Arrest, Frank Avenue, Vredehoek @ 09:00 on the 14th April 2024. Our monitoring centre received an alarm activation from a premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported the gate was wide open. Upon inspection, a male suspect was apprehended on the property. SAPS were dispatched and took the suspect into custody. The suspect was later released with a warning by SAPS as there were no damages to the property and nothing was stolen.

Armed Robbery, Searle Street, Zonnebloem @ 21:24 on the 17th April 2024. Our monitoring centre received a phone in a panic alarm. AR was dispatched and on arrival reported an armed robbery had occurred. According to staff members on site, four suspects with firearms had entered the premises. Two suspects took an employee to the cash office and made him knock on the door. The employee working inside the cash office saw her colleague and granted him access. When she opened the door, the suspects entered the cash office and demanded cash be handed over. The other suspects that were in the main store area at the time, took all the money from the cash registers and cigarettes as well. The suspects then fled the scene. No staff members were injured during the robbery. It could not be confirmed how much cash was taken during robbery. SAPS were in attendance.

House Break-In & Theft, Pentz Drive, Bo-Kaap @ 04:15 on the 18th April 2024. Our monitoring centre received a call reporting there was an intruder on her premises. AR was dispatched and on arrival found the garage had been broken into. As per CCTV footage, a male suspect was seen breaking into the garage and walking off with a bag. SAPS were in attendance.

Theft out of Motor Vehicle, Van Ryneveld Road, Devils Peak @ 05:32 on the 18th April 2024. Our monitoring centre received an alert of a suspect breaking into a vehicle. AR was dispatched and on arrival apprehended the suspect who was handed over to the owner of the vehicle and his security company to await SAPS.

Common Assault, Solan Street, Gardens @ 14:11 on the 18th April 2024. Our monitoring centre received a panic alarm from a premises. AR dispatched and on arrival reported an on-site security officer was assaulting other staff members and customers – it seemed as if the officer was mentally unstable. SAPS were dispatched and took him into custody. No serious injuries were reported.
